Setting one up
1
Open AI Teammates
Go to AI Teammates in the sidebar (or Settings → AI → New teammate)
and choose a template or Blank.
2
Describe the job
What should it do each run? is the question it answers every time it
runs. Standing instructions set tone, format and rules it always follows.
3
Choose when it runs
On demand, On a schedule (daily, weekdays, or one day a week, at a
time in your timezone), or When something happens — a task is created,
assigned, changes status or priority, or becomes overdue.
4
Set its autonomy
See Autonomy below.
5
Limit its reach
Leave Everything the workspace allows on, or pick the exact capabilities
it may use. Optionally limit it to certain projects, and choose who else
gets its reports.
Autonomy
A run you start with Run now never applies changes automatically — you
review the proposal yourself, whatever the autonomy level.
Runs, reports and approvals
Every run is recorded in the teammate’s Run history: what triggered it, the steps it took, what it found or changed, and the credits it used.- Reports arrive in your Inbox as AI Teammate notifications. Turn them on or off under Settings → Notifications → AI Teammates.
- Proposed changes show Needs approval in the run history — open the teammate and choose Approve or Reject. Approvals go to the person the run acted as.
Talking to a teammate
On the Agent page, use the picker at the top left to choose a teammate. Your conversation then follows its instructions, tool list and limits. Writes still show you a preview before anything changes.Who can do what
Safeguards
- Your permissions, never more. Scheduled and event runs act as the person who set the teammate up; Run now acts as whoever pressed it.
- No loops. Changes a teammate makes never wake other teammates.
- Rate limited. An event-driven teammate runs at most 30 times an hour.
- Stops when its owner leaves. If its owner is removed from the workspace, the teammate switches itself off.
- Workspace AI policy still applies — see AI Assistant.
