# Time tracking

> Timers, timesheets, and keeping the hours honest enough to bill from.

<Info>**All plans.** On by default.</Info>

Time is the input for utilization, profitability, and invoicing — so it's worth
getting the habits right early.

## Timers

Start a timer from a task, or from the timer control in the top bar. One timer
runs at a time per person.

<Note>
  Timers left running from a previous day appear in your morning digest, so a
  forgotten stop gets caught rather than quietly inflating a client's hours.
</Note>

## Timesheets

The timesheet view is where hours get reviewed and corrected before anyone
bills from them. Entries carry the task, project, and duration.

Workspace owners can edit or delete a completed entry after the fact — useful
when someone logs eight hours to the wrong project on a Friday afternoon.

## Billable and unbilled

With the Budgets module on, logged time rolls into:

* **Unbilled** — work done and not yet invoiced, so nothing is forgotten.
* **Profitability** — cost against value, per project and per client.

You can mark time as billed once it's on an invoice.

## Timer security

Timers can require location or a known network when started — see
[Timer Security](/timer-security).

## Capacity and utilization

The utilization report shows each person's tracked hours against their
capacity — who's underloaded, who's about to burn out, and whether the pipeline
matches the team you actually have. See [Reports](/reports).
