# Client portal

> A client-facing view of their work, without giving them a seat.

<Info>**Startup plan and above.** Off by default — enable under **Settings → Modules**.</Info>

The portal gives a client a read-only view of their projects — progress,
updates, and approvals — without consuming a workspace seat.

## What a client sees

Their own projects and the progress on them. They do not see your internal
notes, rates, budgets, or other clients' work.

## Branding it

With [White-label branding](/white-label-branding) on, the portal carries your
name, colour, and logo rather than Worksynk's.

## Portal vs. status link vs. external member

<CardGroup cols={2}>
  <Card title="Public status link" icon="link">
    One project, anyone with the URL, no account. Simplest and least private.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Client portal" icon="globe">
    A client's own view across their work, branded.
  </Card>

  <Card title="External member" icon="user-plus">
    An invited person with access scoped to named projects.
  </Card>
</CardGroup>

<Warning>
  A public status link is genuinely public to anyone holding the URL. Use the
  portal or an external member when the work is sensitive.
</Warning>
